Grizzlies lose game 4 in OT

After losing a second straight game in Staples Center Monday night 101-97, Grizzlies are now on the brink of elimination as they trail the Clippers 3-1 in the best-of-seven series.

With now only Game 5 Wednesday night in FedEx Forum promised. If necessary, Game 6 would be Friday in Staples Center, Grizzlies must figure out a way to contain Chris Paul and close out games stronger if they wish to say alive in the series.

The Clippers blew a 10-point lead late in regulation before finishing without Blake Griffin, who fouled out midway through overtime. It could have been the turning point for the Grizzlies to get back into the game and finally win a close one but that wasn’t to be as Chris Paul took the game over.

Griffin had 30 points to lead all scorers to go along with six rebounds and seven assists before fouling out for the Clippers, who blew an 84-74 lead over the final 4½ minutes before Paul took charge in extra time.

Mike Conley and Rudy Gay tried to bring the Grizzlies back but it wasn’t enough as they lose another close one. Grizzlies three losses in this series have been by a total of six points. Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol combined for 20 points 14 rebounds shooting 6 for 15, just couldn’t get anything going as they were in foul trouble the entire night.

Rudy Gay had one of the worst looking 23-point performances you’ve ever seen, shooting 8-for-25 including 1-of-6 threes. He’s shooting just 42.5 percent from the field on the series and has been lit up by whomever he’s guarding. Mike Conley Jr had a career playoff high 25 points on 10 for 15 shooting with 8 assists and 7 rebounds.
