Where’s Jeff Mathis when you need him? Of course, I am joking, but the Angels are going to need another catcher for awhile.
Chris Ianetta recently underwent wrist surgery, so he’ll be gone for the next couple months leaving the Halos with Bobby Wilson as their starting receiver. The Angels could have recalled Hank Conger, but he is on the DL in Salt Lake. Hopefully, the Angels will catch a break, and Wilson will turn out to be a better hitter than we all think.
Dan Haren has back issues, but says he’ll be ready for his next start, this weekend in Texas.
Does Ervin Santana buy the offense dinner, or does the team treat him? After 5 straight Santana starts where the team was shutout, the Halos bats finally came alive in beating Minnesota in the season finale between the two, 6-2.
Santana did improve his record to 1-6, but he still gave up a home run. In 7 starts, Santana has allowed 12 home runs.
I think of the Angels want to improve their offense they should go get Josh Willingham. Against the Halos, the Twins left fielder is 11-29 (.379) with 4 home runs.
Mike Trout is finally showing why everyone has been touting him as one of the top prospects in baseball the past 2 years. Over the past 4 games the kid is hitting .479, with 3 doubles and 1 home run. He is feeling more comfortable every day.
Actually for one of the few times this season, the top 3 in the Halo batting order all did damage on the same night. Trout, Callaspo and Pujols went 7-15 with 5 RBI.
That is great. Unfortunately, it came against the awful Twins. Now let’s see how the Halos will do against the always potent Texas Rangers. Angels need to win 2 of 3, but with the way they have played this season, I would be happy with 1 win. Just don’t get swept.
Angels will get their first look at Yu Darvish on Friday.
The Rangers get their first look at C.J. Wilson. Let’s hope they don’t like what they see.

O'kay I'll talk about myself a little. I've been working in the television/radio industry for over 21 years. I started at 2 so I am just a tad over 21 (That is a joke). My career has taken me around and and even out of the United States. Right now I call Vegas home, but I just never know where life will take me next. Until 2002 my irrational love for the California/Anaheim/LAA had taken me down some very dark roads, but with Arte Moreno in charge I finally saw the a light at the end of the road. I really love most every sports and having as much fun as possible.
