4 in a row!

The Minnesota Twins picked up their 4th win in a row and 6th out of their last ten when they beat the Milwaukee Brewers 5-4 tonight in extra innings.
Carl Pavano when 6 innings giving up only 2 runs but it was Jeff Gray coming in relief who picked up the win, his 3rd of the year. Joe Capps came in the 11th, hurling his new found splitter, and picked up his 9th save of the year.
Ben Revere, Drew Butera and Jamey Carroll each had 2 hits and Brian Dozier added 2 RBI’s but it was Trevor Plouffe’s solo homerun in the top of the 11th that propelled the Twins to victory.
Matt Capps set down 3 in a row in the bottom of the 11th to seal it and the Minnesota Twins are now riding a legitimate winning streak at 4 games.
At 14-26, and 9 games out of 1st place, there’s still a lot of work to be done but with the Twins being in the AL Central, anything’s possible.
Minnesota and Milwaukee will go at it again at Miller Park at 1:10 tomorrow afternoon with Jason Marquis (2-3, 6.68) going up against Zack Greinke (4-1, 2.88). Greinke’s been very solid for the Brewers this year with opposing batter’s only hitting .247, with a slugging % of only .323 against him. His only loss of the season came against the Cubs where he gave up 8 ER in only 3.2 innings of work.
Getting a series sweep will be a tall order for the Twins but if they’re able to jump out to an early lead, they just might have a chance.
