Angels pitch great, but their hitting is another story

I said the Angels would win 1 of the 4 games in Oakland. If they win the 4th it’ll truly be an amazing experience, as they only play three in the Bay. They get the Mariners for four starting Thursday. Either way, they got their one win in Oakland.

Not much to say about Monday’s contest. The Halos once again had little, to no offense. 1-5 with runners in scoring position didn’t help either.

On a good front, Jerome Williams continues to get better and better. He was a tough luck loser, but he still pitched great. 2 earned runs in 6+ innings for the right-hander. Too bad the Angels can’t score any runs.

Maybe the Angels were upset that they lost both Vernon Wells and Ryan Langerhans to injuries. Wells is out for about a month after having surgery on his thumb.

Wells has never been my favorite player, but it stinks that he’s injured. Langerhans loss is nothing to worry about, but it still sucks.

So CJ Wilson hates playing in Oakland. Hates the mound, the stadium and the fans. The few fans that came to Tuesday’s game, hates him too.

So how did Wilson answer his critics? He pitched 8 innings of 1-hit ball. Only Cliff Pennington’s 5th inning single stopped Wilson from matching Jered Weaver’s team lead in the no hit category.

Angels wrapped the game up in the 1st inning when the pushed 3 runs across the plate.

Albert Pujols did some damage too, hitting his 4th home run of the year. It came a mere seconds after I turned from the Kings game. Thank’s Albert for hitting homers when I watch.

Hum, let’s see. Angels go 3-6 with RISP, and they win.

If Peter Bourjos wants to grab center field by the horns, he has to do some damage while Wells heals. He got a hit on Tuesday making him 1-7 in the 2 games. Has to do better than that. I’m sure it’ll take some time to wipe the rust off, since he usually sits on the bench.

Weaver, Mister no hitter himself, pitches the finale, tomorrow afternoon against the A’s
