Extra, Extra Angels win the series in Oakland

Good news for the Halos. Torii Hunter is expected back during the Halos next home stand. Hunter has been on the restricted list while dealing with family issues. I’m sure you know what they are, so I’m not gonna regurgitate the details. It’ll be nice for him, and the Angels when he is back in the lineup.
Now to the game.
Like I said, the Angels will take 2 of 3 in Oakland–haha. I expected them to lose 2 of the 3, but they surprised me, barely.
Luckily, the Halos were playing the A’s, which is the only American League team that has scored less runs than the team from Anaheim, or LA. Whatever.
Angels won 3-1 in 11 innings, but Jered Weaver got another no decision. If the Angels would have scored any runs for the guy, he would be 8-2, instead of 6-1. Not a bad record, but it could be better.
After starting off so badly, the Angels bullpen has become a strength, of late. They have thrown 16.2 straight scoreless innings. The last earned run allowed by the pen was a week ago Thursday. Nice pitching.
Good to see Peter Bourjos got Wednesday off. Whew, after 2 straight starts, the kid has to bushed. Coming in as a pinch runner in the 11th, Bourjos eventually scored the winning run.
Kole Colhoun made a successful major league debut. The kid went 1-5, with 2 strikeouts.
The past hottest Angels are now slumping. Over their past 3 games, Mike Trout has gone 1-13, and Mark Trumbo 2-14. When those 2 are slumping, the Angels offense goes stagnant.
I was reading an article on Sports Weekly about the Toronto Blue Jays. In the story, Jeff Mathis pointed out the loose Jays clubhouse, intimating the Angels clubhouse was the opposite.
Obviously, I’m not in the clubhouse, but the guys never look like they are having any fun. Very few smiles, and even less enthusiasm.
I know the pressure is there due to everyone, and their brother, picking the Angels to win the World Series. I wonder if they would just F’ everyone, if they would pick it up a bit. Especially Albert Pujols, who is on pace for his worst season of his career. I Think I have him finishing with 16 home runs and 75 RBI.
Today’s win gave the series to the Angels, the first one they have won since earlier this month in Minnesota.
It’s now off to Seattle for a four game (I promise) set. With little punch, I see the Angels losing 3 of 4, but they should split.
