CHRIS BOSH TO START IN GAME 2

The Miami Heat enter tonight’s Game 2 of the NBA Finals knowing that they need more firepower if they expect to beat the Thunder on their home floor, and even the series at 1-1.  The Heat also know that they are going to need Chris Bosh to play more like a true power forward if they want to open up the floor a little more for Dwyane Wade and LeBron James.  So Coach Eric Spoelstra has finally decided to give Bosh his first start since returning from injury, with the hope that this help the team with both of these issues.

Will this be enough for Miami to win at OKC tonight?  No.  There are two other key adjustments that have to be made.  For starters, DWade has to be more aggressive.  It is obvious that he is struggling with some type of injury, but he has to find a way to take the game over, even if it is just for short periods of time.  Miami doesn’t need Wade circa 2006, they would happily take the Dwyane that showed up in The Finals last year and averaged 26.5 PPG on 54% shooting.  He led all scorers and was very efficient.  This year he doesn’t need to lead all scorers, but he does have to give James some more help if Miami expects to win.

The other aspect of the game to watch is the Heat defense on Kevin Durant.  LeBron should play every minute possible on KD.  These are the two best players in the NBA right now, and Bron is the only one that can really slow down the Thunder’s leader.  Wade is simply to small and Shane Battier, while a good defender, just looks too slow for Durant.

Even if the Heat tighten everything up, they could still lose tonight, which would probably lead to them losing the series.  The fact is that for the first time since Wade, James, and Bosh united, they are facing a team that is more talented than they are.  Durant and Westbrook are the first duo to look better than the pairing of LeBron and DWade.  KD is certainly more confident down the stretch than Bron, and Russell is more explosive than the Wade we are seeing right now.  Not to mention, OKC is a much deeper team.  Miami has their work cut out for them, but if they can take down the Thunder tonight, they still have a very good chance of achieving the ultimate goal, an NBA Title.
