Congratulations to the University of Arizona men’s baseball team for winning the 2012 College World Series by besting defending champ South Carolina in the three game finale, 2 games to 0.
Making their championship that much sweeter is the manner in which they earned the title, leaving no doubt as to who is the top team in men’s college baseball. The Wildcats of Arizona made it look almost easy. They remained perfect in their post-season march to victory and defeated a Gamecocks squad that had appeared nearly unbeatable themselves until they met these Arizona men.
And it’s about time, for a program that possesses the baseball pedigree as does U of A, last taking the crown way back in 1986 when Jerry Kindall was at the helm.
