In tonight’s game between the Orioles and Angels, the Angels started an all right-handed batter lineup to go up against the Orioles left-handed pitcher Brian Matusz. This would help the Angels to account for four home runs total in this game, the most given up this season by the Orioles in a single game since back on May 8th when the Orioles faced Texas who had five home runs.
O’s pitcher Brian Matusz’ came into this game 1-3 lifetime versus the
Angels with a 6.10 ERA. The O’s fell to a score of 7-3 and Matusz has now lost his last four starts and falls to 5-9 on the season. He has not won since June 2nd, and he has not gone more that five and two-thirds innings in five of his last six starts.
Angels pitcher C.J. Wilson recorded his ninth win of the season and hasn’t lost since May 17th. He went seven innings tonight and has now gone at least six innings his last seven starts. Wilson is currently 3-0 in four starts in the month of June this season. He also came into the game with three straight starts with no earned runs which was broken up by a solo home run in the seventh by the O’s Steven Pearce.
Tomorrow will be the last time the Angels will be playing in Camden Yards this season because of the way the schedule is laid out. The O’s have already played three times in Anaheim and then the O’s play them four more times on the road just before the All-Star break.
