Despite winning four of their past five games, much uncertainty remains in the Brewers bullpen. A day after blowing a 9-2 lead through 6 innings only to be saved by an Aramis Ramirez walk-off two-run homer in the 10th inning, the Brewers bullpen struggled again last night.
Starter Randy Wolf gave up a game-tying three run homer in the 7th inning to tie the game at 5-5. The Brewers got a run back in the bottom of the 7th on a single from Aramis Ramirez which plated Norichika Aoki. That score held until the top of the 9th inning when Gaby Sanchez took John Axford deep to right field to tie the game.
Manny Parra pitched for the Brewers in the 10th inning and gave up two hits and what proved to be the game winning single by Hanley Ramirez as the Brewers this time couldn’t muster the heroics of the night before.
If the Brewers are going to make a run in the division they’re going to have to find some bullpen help at the trade deadline. John Axford, Francisco Rodriguez, Kameron Loe, and Manny Parrra all have ERA’s over 4.0 which is not going to get it done if they’re going to make a move.
One thing’s for certain – no lead is safe in Milwaukee at the moment.
Milwaukee has a game left against the Marlins today and starts a three game series in Houston this weekend.

I have been a volunteer intern for two years with the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and have met some great people. I've gained knowledge in the areas of Event Management, Broadcasting, Sports Information, Stat Running, and Athletic Administration and I've thoroughly enjoyed working in every one of those facets. I would love to start a career in athletics if an opportunity arises.
