A press conference has been scheduled by the Detroit Red Wings for 12.30 pm on Wednesday where they will announce the festivities that will be taking place during the Winter Classic. The conference will take place at Comerica Park and should also provide further details on the Alumni game rosters.
It will no doubt be interesting to see if Nicklas Lidström will play and it will also be fun to see vets like Draper, McCarty and Maltby maybe back on the ice. According to many reports, Steve Yzerman won’t play but I wouldn’t totally count him out. Guys like Gordie Howe will no doubt be at the game but reportedly won’t be making an on ice appearance. Nonetheless, It will be fun to see a bunch of legends from both of the organizations on the ice at the same time and honestly, i’d almost rather go to this than the actual Winter Classic.
The press conference should also provide further details to the Great Lakes college invitational tournament.
