Jayron Hosley to undergo tests on foot

New York Giants rookie cornerback Jayron Hosley had his biggest night so far as a pro football player. It unfortunately ended with him in a protective walking boot on his right foot.
Hosley said after the game that he did not know when he hurt his foot and he does not know how bad it is. He is scheduled to undergo further tests on his foot.
“I couldn’t really tell you right now,” Hosley said of how and when he hurt his foot. “A little something in there. I just need to get some more tests on it.”
The injury was a bitter ending to what is was best day so far as a New York Giant. Hosley continued his great preseason by stepping in front of Mark Sanchez’s pass intended for Patrick Turner and taking it 77 yards down the sideline for a touchdown.
The Giants hope Hosley’s injury isn’t serious. Hosley has been getting better every week and is competing for a starting position on the Giants roster. He made the interception off of Turner in the slot, a position the Giants needed Antrel Rolle to cover most of last season. If Hosley can step into the nickel cornerback position, it would allow Rolle to move back to safety, the position he is most comfortable playing.
With Terrell Thomas injured and Hosley continuing to get better by the week, Hosley could become the team’s third string cornerback. When Thomas does return, the Giants would be left with a very talented group of cornerbacks.
