Shaun Rogers could play this season

Shaun Rogers might play for the New York Giants this season after all. Rogers was spotted in uniform at the teams practice this week. He was on the sidelines and riding a stationary bike for most of practice. Head Coach Tom Coughlin confirmed that there is a possibility that Shaun Rogers could suit up for the Giants during 2012.
Rogers played in the Giants preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but developed a blood clot in his left calf. Just last week Coughlin said that Rogers was done for the season.
Rogers is taking a different medicine following a second opinion. A medicine that allows him to participate in football.
Rogers was signed by the Giants in April and could have begun the season as a starter. He was excited for the new opportunity to play on a championship caliber team. He had lost 50 pounds during the offseason in order to play at a high level. With Chris Canty and Marvin Austin sidelined with injuries, this could be a a little bit of luck.
Don’t expect Rogers to be ready for the season opener. Don’t expect him to be ready for some time. But with General Manager Jerry Reese’s style of play and the rotating defensive lineman, this could add yet another weapon for the Giants.
