Get your S**T together Buffalo. I have been telling you that it is only the preseason and not to worry, but after their 38-7 loss to Pittsburgh, Buffalo is still searching for a win in the preseason, leaving me a little worried. They better get their turnover issues in check if they want to start the season off with a win. The biggest factor for the loss was the two interceptions and one fumble which Pittsburgh capitalized on and scored 21 points from Buffalo’s mistakes.
The Bills were off to a good start when Fred Jackson gave Buffalo a 7-0 lead with a 1 yard touchdown run, and the defense was looking great keeping Pittsburgh off the field with 2 straight 3 and outs. Unfortunately, this success at the start of the game did not continue throughout.
Where do we stand now after three games in the preseason? I am not kidding myself, we know that our group of guys may not be the most talented in the NFL, or the biggest names; but I still expect a more than a total of 27 points of offense and our defense to give up less than 81 whopping points.
Here are the negatives to take from this preseason:
- The back-up quarteback situation is a disaster. Vince Young, Tyler Thigpen and Brad Smith have combined for no touchdowns and 5 interceptions. This could the reason why Buffalo is looking to pick up Tavaris Jackson from Seattle. I think Vince Young’s days are over in Buffalo.
- The defense is horrible. Giving up 350 yards a game is among the worse right now. Hopefully most of the starters will play all game this weekend against Detroit to what the D is really like.
- I really hate the new jerseys. Firstly, it looks like they are wearing a white collar and secondly, because the way they film the game the Nike symbol on their sleeve is the mirror image so it just looks confusing to me.
