The Redskins and Bucs rested all their starters last night making for an all out 2nd, 3rd and 4th teamer showdown for the final roster spots. The only starter for the Redskins was newly acquired kicker Billy Cundiff of the Ravens, after Graham Gano was cut on Tuesday, who made 3 out of 4 fields goals. That didn’t stop the fans from booing his missed one (which was only 46 yards). “It’s good to be back in the NFC East, where they boo the home team,” the veteran said. “It reminds me of my days in Dallas.” Billy as a fan, don’t ever reference Dallas in a sentence about the Redskins fan in the same sentence. Booing won’t be the worst of it.
The good news for the Redskins offense is that injured RG Evan Royster was back scoring 1 TD and Roy Helu scoring 2. QB Kirk Cousins and re-signed QB Jonathan Crompton handled played the entire game, with Cousins completing 15/27 for 222 yards and 1 interception (all TDS were running ones) and Crompton 1/2 for 9 yards and 1 interception.
The secondary defense recorded 5 sacks to the Bucs 0 so something is working. Now, can this momentum carry into the regular season? We shall see. The Redskins travel down to New Orleans on September 9th for their first regular season game.

I lived in Greene County Virginia for about 5 years of my childhood. This span of time was enough to imprint the love of the Washington Redskins (and hate of the Dallas Cowboys) into my life forever, even though I am Canadian and still live in Canada. I am in no way an expert on sports, football, or even the Redskins, but I do absolutely adore them, their fans and their home state(s). My favourite Redskin is and will always be Darrell Green (not because we share the same last name lol). I've adored Chris Cooley since he joined the team from the 2004 draft and love London Fletcher. Hail to the Redskins! See you October 30th in my home town of Toronto.
