Saturday College Football Picks

NW +1
SU has alot to replace in terms of their starters.  They lost 4 of their 5 WRs and their top RB, plus they are starting 12 new players this season.  NW on the other hand with QB Colter a guy that started a fair of share of games last year Persa out half the season, is a very capable Junior with some weapons on offense.  Plus SU D is average at best.

ISU +1.5
I like taking these small underdogs in the first month of the season, especially getting points at home.  Tulsa’s top LB Shawn Jackson is suspended for the first 3 games of the season.  Tulsa does get a nice transfer at QB with Cody Green coming over from Neb but I will never go with a new QB and plenty of newbies starting on offense.  ISU played quite well last year and had a few signature wins over OU and T.Tech.  I like the Sr. QB Jantz for ISU and he is a dual threat.  Nice spot for the Cyclones at home.

FIU +4
I think FIU wins this game outright!  They return 17 starters from last year’s team that won 8 games.  One key for me on this game is Duke has 2 freshmen taking over the punting/kicking duties while FIU has 2 Seniors handling the same chores.  For me, special teams in this game will be huge!  Take the points but you won’t need them.
ND u56.5
Lots rain in the forecast for Ireland on Saturday!  Both teams breaking in run first QB’s.  I look for Brian Kelly to have Golson manage the game.  Goloson will extend plays with his legs and I see alot of clock being run down as both teams run first.  As well, the ND front 7 is very solid and I don’t see Navy scoring more than 14 on them, just like last year when they only scored 14 in the ND rout.  Love this under!
