Come 3:30 Eastern Standard Time, Texas A&M will officially get welcomed into the SEC. The Florida Gators will grace Kyle Field with their presence and recent history of 2 BCS Titles and a Heisman Trophy. Fortunately for the Aggies, those were achieved under Head Coach Urban Meyer who has since moved on to Ohio State. 2nd Year Head Gators Coach Will Muschamp is coming off of a 7-6 season in 2011 and looking to improve. Currently, QB issues have seemed to take over local headlines at Florida. Inexperienced sophomore Jeff Driskel will get the start Saturday against a pretty good A&M defense.
This has worked out great for A&M. Florida, although a fraction of what they once were, are still respected in the SEC as a top tier program. This is an opportunity for the Aggies to start their tradition in the conference with a victory and build some momentum.
Here are my keys to victory;
1. Aggies fans have to welcome the Gators with a few extra decibels than normal.
2. With an inexperienced QB, hand the ball off to Micheal plenty.
3. Zone Blitz on defense. Get Driskel under pressure and capitalize on his mistakes.
4. Hit Hard! Everyone is watching and everyone knows that the SEC has some of the hardest hitting football around. Set the tone right now and build a reputation.
When it’s all said and done this probably won’t be the Aggies biggest game of the year however, right now it is.
Aggies – 21
Gators – 17
