Week 1 Sunday, September 9 at Denver 8:20 PM
The big storyline is the new sheriff (Peyton Manning) in town. The Denver offense will not resemble anything close to what the Steelers saw in the Wild Card round of last year’s playoffs. Tim Tebow is not exactly the precision passer that Manning is (although he had his moments last January).
Ryan Mundy is an adequate replacement for Ryan Clark for one game due to Clark’s sickle cell trait. But, James Harrison went from being a probable starter and active participant in Monday’s practice to being unable to practice on Thursday, which leaves Chris Carter as the starting ROLB.
Overall, the Steelers’ early season injuries and Mike Wallace’s unfamiliarity with the offense have a negative impact on the team’s ability to execute.
Expect the Broncos to air it out early and often to test unproven #2 CB Keenan Lewis. Pittsburgh hangs in there with a balanced attack and short passing game, but Denver holds off a Pittsburgh comeback.
Final Score Prediction: Denver 24, Pittsburgh 20

I grew up in western Pennsylvania, so I have followed the Pittsburgh sports teams (Steelers, Penguins, Pirates) since the womb. It has become a tradition to make the yearly trek to a Steelers and Penguins game each year despite the distance. I hope to make writing a profession because I thoroughly enjoy attempting to paint a picture with words.
