The Texans started out a little slow and were trailing after the first quarter 3-0. In the second quarter however, the Texans starting forcing turnovers and shortening the field; which led them to score 24 points in less than 6 and a half minutes. The second half the Texans just coasted to victory only scoring 6 points but they didn’t even need that.
Matt Schaub looked great going 20 for 31 for 266 yards and a TD and he hooked up with Andre Johnson 8 times for 119 yards and a TD. Arian Foster struggled, he had 26 carries for only 79 yards but did get into the endzone twice (my fantasy team thanks you for that). I don’t know if the knee injury had anything to do with it but Foster was routinely getting stopped behind the line. Still a win is a win so you can’t complain too much. The Texans defense looked great, they were batting balls at the line which lead to 2 picks. They forced 4 turnovers overall which lead to 24 points for the Texans.
The Texans weren’t the only ones who had a good week though. Today was the first regular season game of my blogging career! I predicted in my previous blog that the Texans would win 31-10. Well it was actually only 30-10 but close enough I’d say. I also said that Houston would force 4 and they did just that. I also correctly predicted the number of catches Andre would have and the number of TD’s for Foster. I must say it was a pretty good week!
It still wasn’t a better week than the one Matt Schaub had. Not only did he just get done torching the Dolphins but he signed a new contract extensions with Houston. It is a 4 year deal worth $62 million dollars. That is a nice little pay day and will also keep the nucleus of this offense together for a few more seaons. It has been a great start to the season for Houston so far!
