Before the game I predicted an Aggies victory with a score of 21-17. I was one point of on the score and had the wrong team winning.
An Aggies victory was looking promising through about 3.5 quarters. Freshman Quarterback Johnny Manziel wowed everyone in the stadium and has every Texas A&M fan, both alive and dead jittery with excitement about the future. A&M’s defense was looking solid as well, mitigating the speed on Florida’s offense. Much like other SEC newcomer Missouri, the Aggies seemed like the better team for most of the game but let the Gators hang around for too long.
If this is any indication of how the Aggies will perform in the future inside the SEC, things are looking good! As disappointing as getting beat in the inaugural conference game on Kyle Field was, even Florida head coach Will Muschamp admitted his glee in not having to meet the Aggies next season.
The talent is there and A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin seems to fit in well. This season has the potential to be a success but could also turn into a measuring tool. Either way Aggieland should be excited with their debut!
