Wisconsin lucked out once again this week to pull out a 16-14 win marking their 18 consecutive home win. Clearly not the convincing win Badger fans are accustom to. Montee Ball did manage to run for 139 yards and a TD on 37 carries, but once again Wisconsin’s offensive line hard a time opening up holes for him to run through.
QB Danny O’Brien was pulled at halftime for Joel Stave. Down 14-3 at halftime, WI got a lift when Kenzel Doe returned a punt 82 yards and then Montee ball scored the go-ahead TD later in the 3rd quarter.
Wisconsin though was not done giving this game away, it extended Utah State a couple of chances to still win. With the badgers leading 16-14, punter Tyler Bennett muffed a punt that went gave Utah State the ball on WI’s 45 yard line. With seconds remaining in the game kicker Josh Thompson missed a 37 yard FG which gave WI the win. Hopefully next week against UTEP they get their mojo together or this might be a long season!
