The LSU Tigers crushed the Idaho Vandals 63-14 on Saturday night at Death Valley. Idaho’s quarterback Dominique Blackmon threw 4 interceptions, two of which were ran back for scores by safety Roland Martin and defensive end Lavar Edwards. LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger passed for 222 yards on 17 out of 22 attempts for 2 TD’s and 1 INT. LSU running back Kenny Hilliard rushed for 116 yards on just 11 carries, averaging 10.5 yards a carry. LSU’s defensive only gave up 39 yards on the ground and 174 yards in the air. LSU’s freshman running back Jeremy Hill made his debut tonight and rushed for two scores, a 4-yard run and an 8-yard run.
LSU’s next test will contest the Tigers vs the Tigers as their SEC opener against the Auburn Tigers held in Jordan-Hare stadium in Auburn, Alabama. Auburn will still be thankful they didn’t lose to UL-Monroe earlier today.
