Jets Take Their Talents To South Beach

As the beginning of fall is upon us the New York Jets are packing their bags and heading down south.

After a poor offensive performance last week this is a “show me what you got” type of game.  The inconsistency cannot continue.

You can bet Tony Sparano would love to stick it to his old team and in order to do that he’ll have to get Mark Sanchez going early.  A couple quick, easy passes right from the get-go will get him into a rhythm, which he was definitely missing last week.

The Miami Dolphins have a weak defensive secondary so it would be in the Jets’ best interest to exploit that part of the field.  After scoring two touchdowns in his NFL debut Stephen Hill was held without a catch in Pittsburgh.  This youngster is a big guy and it would be very surprising if he was shut out again.

The Jets need to do a better job of converting third downs because four out of 12 is not going to cut it.  In short-yardage situations expect them to use Tim Tebow.  He’s big, quick, athletic and is very capable of picking up two or three yards.  Perfect man for the job.

With a rookie quarterback under center for the Dolphins Rex Ryan will be able to play his kind of defense.  The Jets are at their best when they put pressure on the QB and even though Ryan Tannehill is extremely athletic he’s going to see a ton of defenders in his face.

The eighth pick overall had a solid game last week, one throwing and one rushing touchdown, but he’s going to need help from his running back Reggie Bush.  Bush went off last week.  The RB ran the ball 26 times for 172 yards and two scores.

He’s going to be the key to the Jets success on defense.  If they can stop Bush and put the game in Tannehill’s hands it’ll be tough for Miami to score, especially if Darrelle Revis, who has been cleared for contact, is on the field.

Final Score: Jets 24  Dolphins 17
