It may of been close at times and it may not of looked pretty, but Wisconsin finished up their non-conference schedule with a 37-26 home win. Montee Ball was side lined with a head injury but James White and Melvin Gordon picked up where he left off. White rushed for 2 scores and Gordon sealed the deal with a 26 yard score late in the 4th quarter.
Jared Abbrederis scored a 47 yard TD in his first game back from a concussion. The win puts Wisconsin at 3-1 and extends their home win streak against non conference opponents at 26 games straight. Joel Stave was 12 of 17 for 210 yards and 1 int in his first start.
The Miners came back to score 13 unanswered points late in the game before Gordons’ score put the game away. Badgers next game will be 9/29/12 against Nebraska in Lincoln.
