Fantasy Football Week 4 Waivers

Shaun Hill – Matthew Stafford suffered a hamstring injury, so he may be able to play this next week, however, if you own Stafford it would be wise to invest in Shaun Hill if you don’t have a reliable backup. Hill is a very capable fantasy starter as he showed by throwing for 2 TDs in the last quarter of the game. The Lions could opt to rest Stafford this week with their BYE week being in Week 5, as to give Stafford a full 2 weeks to get over the injury. He is currently available in 98% of leagues.

Christian Ponder – He has been a very effective QB, but has been relegated to mostly shorter throws with a lack of a strong vertical presence. The return of Jerome Simpson from suspension should help Ponder’s cause and allow the team to stretch the field more. He is currently available in 86% of leagues.

Ryan Williams – Beanie Wells is nursing what is currently being called turf toe and signs are pointing to him being questionable for next week against the Dolphins. If he is out Ryan Williams will get the start, and really this is what Arizona has wanted since drafting Williams last year is to get a chance to see if he can carry the load. He could have a chance to shore up the starting gig in Arizona. He is currently available in 63% of leagues.

Tashard Choice – With the injury to CJ Spiller, Choice took over in Buffalo and ran for 91 yards on the ground. There is chance Spiller will be able to go next week as Chan Gailey has said that his shoulder injury is “not as bad as originally thought”. Then there is the chance that Fred Jackson could return next week ahead of schedule, so adding Choice would be purely speculative at best in the event that the ladder two cannot go, and this could just be early week banter by the Bills who will be facing the division rival Patriots. He is currently available in 89% of leagues.

Daniel Thomas – Thomas is not as good as Lamar Miller plain and simple, but Miller doesn’t know the scheme in Miami well enough to get significant snaps. With Reggie Bush’s test result coming back clean Thomas would be the best add in the event that Bush is held out for Week 4. He is currently available in 86% of leagues.

Lance Ball – Willis McGahee suffered a rib injury and is listed as questionable for Week 4, and Ball is the likely starter in the event he sits out. It’s likely the Broncos will go to a committee approach in their backfield if McGahee is out, but if you’re in need at the RB position you could do worse than Ball. He is currently available in 99% of leagues.

Leonard Hankerson – Coach Mike Shanahan has said that Hankerson will be the starter going forward. Hankerson will likely be the starting wide out for the Redskins going forward until Pierre Garcon returns. There is a lot of upside for Hankerson and should be rostered in most leagues. He is currently available in 94% of leagues.

Donnie Avery – Austin Collie return this week only to have his season come to an unfortunate end with a ruptured patella tendon. The job of the WR2 for the Colts is now Avery’s alone, and he is worth rostering in all PPR leagues as he has been consistently targeted by Andrew Luck. He is currently available in 67% of leagues.

Heath Miller – He has caught 4 TDs in the first 3 games of the season and proving a consistent target for Ben Roethlisberger in the red zone. The Steelers will be heading into their BYE week for Week 4, but Miller is still worth grabbing as Big Ben has said he plans to get his tight end to the Pro Bowl. He is currently available in 58 % of leagues.

Kyle Rudolph – He is worth rostering if you’re looking for a tight end and is often targeted by Christian Ponder. He has been lacking as a vertical threat, but is a big target and a solid red zone threat for the Vikings. He is currently available in 59% of leagues.

Others worth considering: Andy Dalton (49% of leagues), Jacquizz Rodgers (53% of leagues), Andrew Hawkins (73% of leagues), and Jerome Simpson (89% of leagues).
