Another tough week for the Rams offensive line

It doesn’t get any easier for the Rams offensive line. Last Sunday the offensive line was unable to pass or run block against the Chicago Bears front four. And I doubt that they will be able to pass or run block against the younger, faster and more athletic front four of the Seattle Seahawks. The offensive line has to have a big game, if the Rams plan on being competitive in Sundays game. The line has to give the running game a chance. I believe that the Bears linebackers are slightly better than the Seahawks linebackers, and Steven Jackson will have a better opportunity against them. Also the secondary for Seattle is among the best in pass coverage, but I don’t believe they can handle Steven Jackson coming down hill. But the offensive line has to block. Power football is the key to victory against Seattle this Sunday.
Now defensively the Rams should be able to hold Seattle. The Seahawks are the only team in the NFL, that has more rushing than passing yards. Marshawn Lynch is a handful at running back, but he can be stopped. If the Rams can force Seattle to throw the ball, they can win this game. Cortland Finnegan and the Rams defense must help the offense by shortening up the field. That means the defense needs to minimize the offensive production for Seattle. It is going to take a total team effort by the Rams on Sunday to win, including special teams. The return team has to come up big and the punting game has to pin the Seahawks deep in their own territory.
I only have one key to victory this week for the Rams and that is block, block and block. If the offensive line can help produce one big play, via run or pass blocking, that would shift their confidence and the flow of the game. The Rams best chance for victory, outside of a big play by special teams or their defense, is a 100 yard rushing game by either back, or 150 yards combined. The only way this can happen is if the offensive line blocks, block and blocks some more.
