With the kind of season WI has had so far this year, I can’t say I am surprised they opened up their Big Ten schedule with a loss to Nebraska in Lincoln last night.
By no means was this a run away game, WI did only loss by 3 points. Montee Ball managed to find the end zone 3 times but didn’t break the 100 yd mark as the WI running game is still a big dissapointment thus far this season.
At QB Joel Stave added another TD to Jared Abbrederis, who finished with an impressive 147 receiving yards. So far this season the WI passing game has proven to be more reliable then the hard knocks ground game we are use to seeing out of WI each year.
The let go the offensive line coach after the second game of the season, when the holes were not opening up for the WI running backs. Even with the change though, The big guys up front are struggling to create running room for Montee Ball. At this point I think unless the offensive line starts blocking the way their capable off, Montee Ball will not be even close to finishing this year with the numbers he had last year, when he was on pace to break records.
