When this game started everyone thought it was going to get ugly quick after the Texans scored on their first drive without having to face a 3rd down. Then later on in the first quarter Arian Foster ran for a touchdown from 4 yards out making it 14-0 after the 1st quarter.
In the 2nd quarter it was a different Titans team as they held the Texans out of the end zone, and cut the gap to 14-7 and went to half time feeling good about themselves. After that it all went downhill because Matt Hasselbeck who was filling in for Jake Locker, who got injured in the 1st quarter, really struggled. He threw a bad pass to a wide open receiver and it tipped off his hands and went right into the arms of Danieal Manning who returned it for a 55 yard touchdown. That really took any momentum that Tennessee had and threw it out the window. It was all Houston in the 2nd half and they never looked back. After a Matt Schaub touchdown pass and Shayne Graham field goal, Kareem Jackson had a 63 yard interception return for a touchdown making it 38-7. A late Hasselbeck to Wright touchdown made it 38-14 but it didn’t matter the Texans had already made their statement.
Predictions and results:
Matt Schaub 18-25 250 yards 2 TD’s
Actual: 20-28 202 yards 2 TD’s Arian Foster: 30 carries 220 yards 2 TD’s
Actual: 24 carries for 86 yards TD
Andre Johnson: 8 catches 85 yards
Actual: 3 catches 56 yards
Owen Daniels: 10 catches 90 yards 2 TD’s
Actual 6 catches 72 yards TD
Texans defense: 4 sacks and 3 turnovers and defensive TD
Actual: 4 sacks 3 turnovers and 2 defensive TD’s
Final Score Texans 45 Titans 17
Actual: Texans 38 Titans 14
Overall. my predictions were very close to the reality of the game besides the Texans run game which the Titans did a surprisingly good job of stopping. I was also surprised at Chris Johnson and how well he ran the ball against Houston but the only stat that matters is wins and losses and the Texans are now 4-0 on the season and now need get ready for the Jets on Monday night.
