I hate last second field goal wins/losses more than anyone, but Cundiff missed 3 prior FGs so the Skins would have been up by 30-22 (or at least 27-22 as 2 were easily makeable which would have made my prediction of 28-21 so close!). The Redskins pulled off a 24-22 win over the Bucs in the last few seconds with a FG. If he didn’t make that 4th FG, I doubt he’d still be a Redskin this morning.
With the Redskins facing the #1 rushing defense, they managed 160 yards rushing, even giving Rookie RB Alfred Morris his first 100+ yard game. RG3 was on fire again rushing for almost 2 TDs (one was fumbled in the end zone and recovered by Garcon) and threw for 323 yards.
The Skins had an 18 point lead at the half, but the D allowed a few huge plays by the Bucs and they managed a TD late in the 4th and because they were down by 2, tried for a 2 point conversion, got a false start penalty, but went for it again and failed. That I will give to the D. 21-19 Redskins. With 1:42 remaining, the very consistent kicker of the Bucs got the lead 22-21 over the Redskins, but RG3 now had the ball. He threw 3 consecutive passes and moved the Skins from their own 20 to the Bucs’ 41, then ran for 15 yards himself to lead up to the game winning FG.
It was a very exciting yet nail biting and frustrating all at the same time. HTTR!
One injury that didn’t happen during the game, but made an impact was S Brandon Meriweather collided with receiver Aldrick Robinson in the warm-up. Meriweather hurt his knee and Robinson was actually knocked out cold.

About the Author
Written by Mercedes Green
I lived in Greene County Virginia for about 5 years of my childhood. This span of time was enough to imprint the love of the Washington Redskins (and hate of the Dallas Cowboys) into my life forever, even though I am Canadian and still live in Canada. I am in no way an expert on sports, football, or even the Redskins, but I do absolutely adore them, their fans and their home state(s).
My favourite Redskin is and will always be Darrell Green (not because we share the same last name lol). I've adored Chris Cooley since he joined the team from the 2004 draft and love London Fletcher.
Hail to the Redskins! See you October 30th in my home town of Toronto.
