Packers bounce back against Saints

The Green Bay Packers beat the New Orleans Saints yesterday 28-27 in one of the most exciting games I was able to be apart of at Lambeau Field.
It is looking as though the Packers offense is slowly figuring it out and on their way to clicking as Aaron Rodgers threw for four touchdown passes, including two to James Jones. Rodgers also had a total of 319 yards and only threw one pick.
Meanwhile Rodgers was looking good in the passing game, it was nice to see Mike McCarthy have a more balanced attack this week by giving the ball to Cedric Benson 18 times. Benson rewarded McCarthy by rushing for 84 yards with a 4.7 yards per carry average. If Benson can continue to put numbers like he did yesterday up, the Packers offense will be much more efficient. It’s also worthy to note the Packers did not give up a single sack in the game as well.
While the offense has not been as explosive as last year, it seems as though the Packers are starting to figure out what they need to do on offense to get where they were. Take away two plays from yesterdays game on offense and you have a great performace. Rodgers interception was his fault, but when your backup quarterback cannot come in and hand the ball off, there is something really wrong. The fumble by Graham Harrell was a 14 point swing and allowed the Saints to stay in the game. Take away that play and it’s a completely different game, so the offense is coming around.
The defense while it gave up passing yards to Drew Brees they never looked as bad as they had last year. The run defense is excellent and the youth on the team continues to improve. Things are looking good in Green Bay, maybe the one point win is just what the Packers needed to get back to football and move on from the Seattle game.
