The Rams face the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night football this week. The Cards are one of the three unbeaten teams left in the NFL. By far they are the weaker of the three teams, including the Atlanta Falcons and the Houston Texans. The Cardinals are overrated at this point and have surprised the league with their undefeated start. They are surviving off their top rated defense, which will only take them so far. I believe that the Rams two previous games against the Seahawks and the Bears, has primed them for their match-up against the Cards. The Rams are use to facing a tough defense and should be able to weather the storm this time around.
The Cards are ranked 31st in total offensive yards and 15th in scoring, averaging only three more points than the Rams. At the start of week four, the Cards are number one in total defense, which is a deceptive number. Against the run the Cards are ranked 14th and against the pass they are 21st. There is a great possibility the Bradford gets back rolling through the air against the Cardinals. And depending on how healthy Steven Jackson is, he might have a break out game. The Rams need to win the field position game as they did against the Seahawks last week. In doing so they will put their outstanding rookie kicker in position, to make more record breaking field goals.
The Rams have only one key for success this week, key on Larry Fitzgerald. The Ram defense needs to lock Fitzgerald down and make Kevin Kolb beat them another way. The defense should not have a problem stopping the run attack of the Cardinals and after limiting Brandon Marshall of the Bears, should be able to minimize Fitzgerald. The Rams will upset the Cardinals on Thursday night football and bust the hot air balloon the Cardinals have been riding in. Rams win 23- 17.
