The St. Louis Rams defense outplayed the NFL’s number one rated defense tonight. The defense left Cardinal QB Kevin Kolb black, blue and bloody. They stayed after him all game and never let him get into any type of rhythm. Even though Larry Fitzgerald had eight catches, he only gained 92 yards and was held out of the end-zone. The Rams shut the running game for the Cards completely down, only giving up 45 yards.
I had a feeling that Bradford would get back on track in tonight’s game, but I was wrong. Outside of the first drive of the game and his 51 yard touchdown pass to Givens in the fourth quarter, Bradford stunk up the stadium. A lot of that is contributed to the pass rush of the Arizona defense and dropped passes by his receivers. Bradford finished the game, 7 for 21, with 141 yards, 2 TD’s and 1 pick. Steven Jackson was able to produce 76 yards on the ground on 18 attempts, relieving some of the pressure on the offensive line and Sam Bradford.
The Rams beat an over-rated Cardinal team tonight and exposed a lot of weaknesses in the Cardinal offense. The Rams still have plenty of work to do offensively before their next game. Defensively the Rams are improving weekly and should have another good showing in a week versus the Miami Dolphins.
