Monday Morning Hangover: One Manning is not as good as the other

Eli seems to always get the best of Brady, but Peyton does not fair as well. But, in all fairness, the Giants are a better team than the Broncos. So the question I have is, “Could Eli beat Brady if he were on the Broncos?”

Peyton had nearly 350 yards and three TD’s. He was no slouch in this game. He was decisive, had a stronger arm than I thought, and did not throw a pick. However, he did lose a fumble that cost Denver some points. In the end, he too had a chance to tie up the Pats, but McGahee fumbled and pretty much ended the game. In the end, NO Eli would have lost if he were on Denver because this game was won on the ground.

The Patriots put up 200 rushing yards in two consecutive games. They have not done that since 1978. This does not just give Brady time and rest, but it makes him impossible to stop. He completed nearly 75% of his passes with no picks. They did this while being in the no huddle for almost the whole game. I think it has to be some sort of record, getting 200 yards rushing in a no huddle offense.

Not only could they run, but they made sure Denver could not. McGahee is one of the better running backs in the NFL. He only had a little over 50 yards and a fumble. He rushed for over a hundred yards the two games before. Wilfork and the rest of the team are becoming a run shut down defense. Quarterbacks, even Peyton Manning, cannot outmatch the dominate Pats offense with only one dimension.

After this game I am more confident than ever about a Super Bowl win. I feel bad for Manning(NOT), he never really had a chance. And even when he did his team would not allow him to utilize it. But Brady gets another victory in their historical battle. As long as Manning is on Denver, Brady probably will not lose again.

Fun facts:

Brady is only eleven games behind tying Brees’s consecutive TD record

After Brady won the first 6 meetings against Manning, Peyton has now gone 4-3 against him, so Brady is 10-3 against Manning(nice)

If the Pats get turnovers, they get Ws
