The Red River shot out is probably the most watched regular season college
football game in Texas. I must saw I am really not much a fan of Oklahoma.
Really, can’t tell you when and why I started disliking them so much. Its has
been a great game to watch and wouldn’t miss it for nothing in the world. This year I plan on having Margarita’s for the game. I always say if you can’t go to the game, do what I did and go to Vegas for the game. Great, atmosphere and possibly make a little money off the game.
This game is big for both teams. Two lose will throw the loser out of the hunt
for title play. Again, Texas has its hands full. Haven’t beaten a AP ranked team in awhile. Loss here for Texas may mean another underachieving year for a very talented group. I believe the coaches for Texas will be the deciding factor.
Looking for better game preparation on the defenses side. Like to see better game management when it come to time control.
I really like what I see out of the offense. I think offensive coordinator, B. Harsin. He keeps opponents off balance with his play calling. Again, want to see more of J. Gray. I think Malcom Brown may not play in this game. If he does duties will be limited. Need to see more out of the Tight ends and full backs in the run game. They really need to block better especially on the corners to open up the outside running game. Shipley at receiver needs some help from fellow receivers, Goodwin and magic Davis. Ash must play a better game
than last years rout. And, he will if the offensive line continues to protect him on passing downs. Oklahoma has a good pass defense and a very good secondary. They are a good tackling team and does a good job keeping the ball in front of them. Weak area may be the linebackers, especially in the middle of the field on passing situations
The defense needs to continue to do what they do best. Put pressureJeafcott and Okafor are two of the best ends in college football and the interior line is not bad. Longhorns need to improve what they do worse shed tackles and stop the run. The can’t attack well straight on and may need to use more of a slanting style defense with less stunts. The defense must continue to play well in the turnover ratio. Oklahoma passing offensive line is not that good. They have
a very good q in L. Jones quarterback and can really throw the football well. But this year has made some costly turnovers. They have a fairly decent receiver group and a good running back in Williams.
Texas by 3 points and will score over 20 points.
