It's really been the best story of MLB '12. They should've pitched to Freese. I think Nats got a little too cute, too cautious. Can't do that with the Redbirds or they'll make you pay. Gotta' face down & challenge those guys, every batter, every pitch. We Cubs' fans went through something quite similar in 2003 (Marlins). Right on the cusp and then the wheels came off, but fast. This loss will fester this winter and always be a difficult memory for you Nationals' fans, but there is no shame in losing the way you did and then losing to an organization as storied as the St. Louis Cardinals.
