I haven’t seen Houston this crazy about a team in years! If anyone of those fans thought they would go undefeated though, then they are absolutely crazy! This day was bound to happen but no one thought it would be this bad. The Packers just man handled the Texans. They made them look silly. It almost looked as if they Texans just weren’t ready to play with the big boys yet. This was really their first game against a quality opponent and I honestly don’t even think the Packers are all that great this year. It doesn’t get any easier as they have to face Baltimore next.
I don’t believe the defense fell apart because of Brian Cushing being out. He wasn’t even the best defensive player on the team and football is a team game to the maximum. Aaron Rodgers just did whatever he wanted and whenever he wanted to do it. Maybe it just took the Texans by surprise though I mean they haven’t really faced an elite QB yet. Ryan Tannehill, Blaine Gabbert, Peyton Manning, Matt Hasselbeck, and Mark Sanchez that’s a list of all the guys they have played against this season. Peyton is the only guy who is you could even put in the top 15 QB’s in the NFL. I think the 5-0 was a little overrated just because of the quality of opponets that they faced.
The offense was terrible tonight only managed two touchdowns and Matt Schaub didn’t throw a TD and had two picks. Arian Foster wasn’t even a factor in this game he gained 29 yards on 17 carries. The Packers got out front and made the Texans play catch up and that’s something they aren’t used to doing.
The defense look like it was in 2010 form when they were one of the worst pass defenses in the history of the NFL. Aaron Rodgers had his way going 24-37 with 388 yards and 6 TD’s making his fantasy owners really happy. JJ Watt did manage to get 2 sacks and was the lone bright spot on the defense but the defense I saw tonight is very concerning. Especially if they can’t stop the passing attack last night.
All in all this will be a big humbling game for the players and the fans. This loss could do one of two things: could rally the team and they get focused and not caught up in being undefeated or it could have reveled the Texans holes and how you can attack them. I guess we will find out what this loss actually does for this team down the road but for now the Texans hype will quiet for a few days and the players will get ready for a tough match up this week vs Baltimore.
