Tom Brady has not been himself as of late. It is sad to see his team below Manning’s at this point in the season, and it is even more depressing to see the Pats tied with all three teams in their division (especially since one of those teams is the Bills and the other is led by a rookie QB). But this sadness can drift into distant memory if the Pats can pull off a win. I think they can do it if Ridley plays good football.
It is simple. When Ridley rushes for over 100 yards the Pats win and when he does not, they lose. Not much more need be said. Factor in the fact that the Jets have one of the best pass defenses and, as of today, the worst rush defense, and Ridley, Woodhead, and Boldin should do just fine. Together they should be able to reach the double century mark.
Now let’s look at the other side of the ball. Sanchez has been struggling for almost years now and I do not think that will completely end on Sunday. I think he will have a good game though, everyone does against this Pats secondary. He will prolly throw for over 200 yards and 2 TDs, maybe a pick or two as well. But the Pats CANNOT let Sanchez do to them what they let Russell Wilson do.
The Jets won their last game with the rush. Greene had a breakout game and the Jets romped the Colts by twenty. But, the Pats have statistically the eighth best rush defense in the NFL(giving up about 85 a game) and, in my opinion, it is closer to top three with how they cover screens and pitches. The Jets will not run over the Pats like they did the Colts, so, if the Jets even have a chance, Sanchez will have to play outstanding.
So, will the Pats secondary be just good enough or not? That is the true question to the winner of this game. They do not have to play great. They do not have to play good. They have to play a smidgin above completely abysmal and the Pats will win this game.
Brady will have a solid game(250 and 2 TDs), but will throw a pick
Sanchez will be sacked at least 3 times, Brady as well
Boldin will average a higher yards per carry than Greene and Ridley
The Pats will still miss not having a big time WR and Lloyd will not do much, perhaps will do nothing
This will be the worst game for Welker in a while
Hernandez will break out this game
