Badgers will look today to extend their Big Ten win streak against the Golden Gophers of Minnesota. This will be the 122nd meeting between these two teams dating back to 1890. This game also means bragging rites for another season and the coveted Paul Bunyan axe which Wisconsin has had for the last 8 years and will try and keep for a 9th.
Minnesota hasn’t won at Camp Randall since 1994. Montee Ball and the offense will look to continue to find their groove which has started to come on the last few games after a slow and shaky start to the season.
Minnesota’s defense will have to make some stops and contain Montee Ball or this could prove to be a long day and another disappointing trip back to Minnesota empty handed. With back to back losses to Iowa and Northwestern, a win today would help Minnesota build some confidence. Marqueis Gray is going to be limited with a high ankle sprain, so his scrambling ability may not be a factor, he will have to stay in the pocket more as a pure passer. If he isn’t getting it done look for the Gophers to bring in Max Shortell.
Game time is noon at Camp Randall in Madison, WI
