Wisconsin torched the Gophers Defense, giving up 341 yards to Montee Ball and James White. White rushed for 175 yards and 3 scores, while Montee Ball put up 166 yards and 2 4th quarter scores.
The win, extends Wisconsin’s home win streak to 21, the 2nd longest home winning streak only behind LSU.
Philip Nelson got the start at QB for the Gophers. Marqueis Gray couldn’t play on the sprained ankle and Max Shortell hurt his neck the week before. The decision to start Nelson means that his red-shirt status is gone. Jerry Kill decided to start the highly recruited kid out of Mankato, he put up decent numbers, 149 yards passing and 2 scores and also ran for 67 yards, but didn’t get much help.
