In one of the most positive things to ever come from a player’s injury during a heart breaking loss is this story. TE Chris Cooley is back! The Redskins released Cooley in August and during his heart warming news conference, all Redskins fans around the globe were crying, bitter and angry. I did agree when he was released that he had the potential of being a bigger star on another team, which the Redskins allowed him to go out and do, but this change of events will definitely make him the star again. This offense needs his guidance, his leadership, his fan base, his humour, his everything.
I think the lyrics to “Welcome Back, Kotter” say it best!
Your dreams were your ticket out.
To that same old place that you laughed about.
Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they’re turned around.
Who’d have thought they’d lead ya (Who’d have thought they’d lead ya)
Here where we need ya (Here where we need ya)
Yeah we tease him a lot cause we’ve got him on the spot, welcome back,
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.

Written by Mercedes Green
I lived in Greene County Virginia for about 5 years of my childhood. This span of time was enough to imprint the love of the Washington Redskins (and hate of the Dallas Cowboys) into my life forever, even though I am Canadian and still live in Canada. I am in no way an expert on sports, football, or even the Redskins, but I do absolutely adore them, their fans and their home state(s). My favourite Redskin is and will always be Darrell Green (not because we share the same last name lol). I've adored Chris Cooley since he joined the team from the 2004 draft and love London Fletcher. Hail to the Redskins! See you October 30th in my home town of Toronto.
