Rashad Jennings – MJD will be out for at least a few weeks and Jennings should be the number 1 priority on the wire this week. The Jags offense may be sputtering, but Jennings will be a starting back no easily found on most wires and has the talent to be a strong fill in for owners. Available in 70% of leagues currently.
Montario Hardesty – With Trent Richardson fighting a rib injury, the Browns may err on the side of caution with their 3rd overall pick this week as they are 1-6 and last in the division. They would do well to handle their future star with kid gloves. Hardesty is best added if you own Richardson as a handcuff or for savvy owners looking to stick it to their competition. Available in 90% of leagues currently.
Jonathan Dwyer – Dwyer didn’t pan out well early this season, mostly because the Steelers wanted to continue to give the ball to an inept Isaac Redman. With the majority of carries Dwyer rumbled for 122 yards against the Bengals. He is best added as a handcuff as well, since there is potential for a timeshare when Medenhall returns, which could be as early as this week. Available in 75% of leagues currently.
Titus Young – Young is another player who will benefit from an injury. Nate Burleson is out with a broken leg and Young will take over opposite of Megaton. There is a lot of upside in a Lions offense that could be dangerous if they can get it together. Available in 73% of leagues currently.
Vincent Brown – Before the season began Brown was being highly utilized in the Chargers passing game and should be coming off of his ankle injury over the next few weeks. He is best picked up as speculative add with upside. He is one of the better route runners on the team and could be a sneaky add if you have a spot, but don’t reach too soon. Available in 93% of leagues currently.
Josh Gordon – It’s hard to argue with 4 TDs over the last 3 games, but Gordon only has 7 catches during that stretch. Big play targets tend to have problems with consistency. There’s no argument against adding him for some spud on your bench, but be aware that he can’t catch the deep passes for a score in every game. Available in 50% of leagues currently.
Martellus Bennett – There seems to have been a good deal of owners that gave up on Bennett after a bad stretch, but it would be important to note that he was battling a knee injury that clearly slowed him at that time. If someone in your league has dropped him he’s worth a look, especially against his former team whom he feels slighted him. Available in 30% of leagues currently.
