The Tigers did not show up to play in Game 1 of the World Series as they got routed by the San Francisco Giants by the score of 8-3.
The Giants charge was led by their third baseman Pablo Sandoval, who hit three home runs today with two coming off of Justin Verlander. Speaking of Verlander, he suffered his worst loss in the playoffs. Verlander gave up five runs on six hits and lasted only four innings.
The Tigers batting today wasn’t very impressive at all today. The team only put up three runs: a 6th inning RBI single by Miguel Cabrera and a two run shot by Johnny Peralta in the ninth inning.
The Tigers look to rebound tomorrow at San Francisco at 8:00 ET when Doug Fister squares off against Madison Bumgarner.
