The Jets and Dolphins have never liked each other and the current chapter in the rivalry is spicing things up even more.
The two sides have been exchanging words over the past few weeks and now it’s time to do their talking on the field.
LaRon Landry has made it clear that he’s going to be coming after Reggie Bush and the rest of the Miami squad. The safety is known for his physical play and if he’s in a position to make a hard hit on Sunday you can bet he’ll seize the opportunity. Dolphins, you’ve been warned.
This is the first time rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill is paying a visit to the Meadowlands. The Jets’ defense needs to stop the run and force Tannehill to beat them. He’s an athletic young guy, but rookies on the road tend to make mistakes more often than not.
When the Jets have success running the ball the entire team has success. They need to feed Shonn Greene early and often. Even if he’s not able to gain large chunks of yards they need to pound the ball and wear down Miami’s defense.
Once they establish a running game Mark Sanchez will have more space to work with. The line has to do a better job of protecting him. The Dolphins will definitely be blitzing, so it’s crucial the O-line gives Sanchez some time to get the ball down the field.
There’s no hiding the fact that these two teams have some bad blood coming into this matchup. It’s gonna be a smash mouth kind of game.
Final Score: Jets 23 Dolphins 17
