Can the Dolphins STOP a COLT STAMPEDE???

Posted By Daniel Saviuk On Nov 2 2012 @ 11:12 pm In Miami Dolphins,NFL | 3 Comments

We can now close the Dolphins/Jets rivalry for 2012. Thank God, all this trash-talk is over  between the two teams. It became very LAME, but my trash-talk with my uncle is and always will be CLASSIC. So, my parting shot about the Jets is this:

My uncle kept talking ill about my Fins, but was way off,
The Fins went into the Jets’ house & ripped their roof off,
Rex Ryan and his Jets were left dazed and in total shock,
They were left holding the strap of the Dolphins’ jock.

It was such a great feeling watching them get beat down,
It proved the Dolphins were destined to win this showdown,
Take them down, shut them up and they will choke,
The Jets are officially the NFL’s BIGGEST JOKE!!!!!!!

That is the end of this years’ games between the two,
It was the Dolphins who made them scream BOO-HOO!! BOO-HOO!!

Lets’ talk about this week’s matchup against the Colts in Indianapolis.

This game could feature two of the top 3 ROOKIE QUARTERBACKS taken in this year’s draft. Ryan Tannehill (8th) and Andrew Luck (1st).

Tannehill is UNCERTAIN because of the knee and thigh injury, he suffered Sunday against the Jets. He hopes he can lace’ em up and face the Colts.

Both Tannehill and Luck have had FANTASTIC YEARS SO FAR. There teams are 4-3, which is a TOTAL SHOCK too many in the NFL, considering the fact that Miami was 6-10 and the Colts were 3-13 last year, respectively.

These two guys have BOTH put the teams BACK ON THE MAP, along with their 1st year HEAD-COACHES JOE PHILBIN AND CHUCK PAGANO (who is suffering from leukemia and won’t be with the team for quite some time).

If Tannehill can’t go, than Matt Moore who filled in last week ADMIRABLY, will get the nod. Moore: 11-19, 131 yards, TD, 0 Turnovers. Moore knows what he is doing under the center. Plenty of confidence in him..

Lets’ Play INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Tannehill’s numbers: 120-203, 1,472 yards (7.3 Avg), 4 touchdowns, 6 interceptions, 1 fumble and has been sacked 13 times. He has a 75.8 passer rating, which is slightly higher than Luck’s rating. http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/stats/_/name/mia/miami-dolphins [1]

Luck’s numbers: 160-288, 1,971 yards (6.8 Avg), 8 touchdowns, 8 interceptions, 0 fumbles, and has been sacked 18 times. He has a 74.6 passer rating. http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/stats/_/name/ind/indianapolis-colts [2]

Luck was the 1st pick in the NFL Draft of the Colts. Last year, the Colts lost their FRANCHISE QB Peyton Manning to a NECK injury and played poorly in his absence. After the season, they decided to release Manning and start fresh. Manning signed with Denver, and the Colts picked Luck Number 1.

Inside the Colts stats: http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/ind/indianapolis-colts [3]

Right now, the Colts are 9th in passing yards (265.9), 17th in rushing yards (107.1), but the defense is fantastic against the pass (7th, 213.0), but have a hard time stopping the run (27th, 137.4).

Luck does have some weapons in WR Reggie Wayne and RB’s Donald Brown and Vick Ballard. Wayne has the most yards receiving in the NFL (757), and 3rd in receptions (54), and reception yards per game (108.1, first). http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1157367-game-preview-stats-predict-the-dolphins-to-win-against-the-colts [4].

In my opinion, the Colts will have a hard time this week against Miami because they are facing a SUPERIOR DEFENSE, and especially the leader of the defense, the “SACKMASTER” himself Cameron Wake. He was a ONE-MAN MACHINE last month.

Wake was named yesterday (11/1/12), AFC DEFENSIVE PLAYER of the month of October.

Check this out from: http://www.miamidolphins.com/news/article-1/Cameron-Wake-Named-AFC-Defensive-Player-Of-The-Month/1d8a86bb-3c4f-4879-beca-4211f0fb2a75 [5].

In the month of October, Wake recorded nine tackles and three sacks in the Dolphins’ three games. His three sacks, one tallied in each game, were tied for an AFC-high for the month and the team finished with a 3-0 record.

On the season, Wake is tied for fourth in the NFL with 7.5 sacks, all of which have come in the last four games, including a career-high 4.5 sacks against the Arizona Cardinals on September 30. Additionally, his 4.5 sacks against the Cardinals were the most that any player has recorded in a single game this season. Wake’s 35.5 sacks in his first four seasons with the Dolphins are the most by any player in their first four seasons in franchise history. His sack against the New York Jets this past week moved him into 10th place among the franchise’s sack leaders.

My keys to the game:
1) Run Reggie, Run Reggie Run!! Give him the ball, and TURN HIM LOOSE!!! Bush needs a MONSTER GAME like he did in Week 2 against the Raiders.

2) Take shots downfield. Former Dolphins CB Vontae Davis is out with an injury, so go after the corners. S Andrea Bathea is legit, but he can’t cover everyone.

3) Protection, Protection, Protection. DE’s Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis are exceptional pass-rushers. They know how to get to the QB, so MEMO to the OL, “BE READY!!”

4) Get to Luck!! The front-seven needs to make Luck uncomfortable in the pocket, so that way turnovers can be forced.

5) CB’s need to cover Wayne, Donnie Avery and co. Wayne and Avery know how to catch the ball, so the secondary needs to stop them from big plays..

6) Special Teams. Olivier Vernon, who was named Special Teams Player of the Week; Marcus Thigpen, kick-off return specialist, Punter Brandon Fields and Kicker Dan Carpenter should play a major role in the game.

As always, I believe the Dolphins will keep their winning-streak alive to 4 in a row, by beating the Colts (24-10).

I believe Tannehill will play and do well (18-25, 220 yards, 2TD’s, 0INT’s); If not, Moore will do well (20-28, 250 yards, 2TD’s, 0INT’s). Bush goes off (25 carries, 120 yards, TD; 5 catches, 55 yards); Hartline plays solidly (4 catches, 60 yards, TD).

Go Dolphins!!!
