Cowboys Versus Eagles Could Be A Turning Point For Both Teams

If you aren’t particularly a fan of either the Cowboys or the Eagles, then this could be a tough game for the casual fan to watch. However, with both teams struggling this season for relevance at 3-5, both teams’ quarterbacks playing at a less than stellar level, and possibly both coaches on the hot seat, there is reason to keep an eye on this game. With the parity in the NFL there is also reason to believe whoever wins this game could have a chance to make a run for the playoffs, however unlikely that would be based on their performances to date.
The Cowboys will be looking to their defense to once again keep them in the game this week, and Rob Ryan will be looking to get his pass rush going against the Eagles banged up offensive line that gave up 7 sacks to the Saints last week.
The Cowboys have said that Dez Bryant will be probable and recovered from the hip injury he suffered in Week 9 against the Giants. The team will need Bryant against a suspect Eagles secondary.
The Cowboys could have DeMarco Murray back as soon as Week 11, after he spend some time this week doing individual drills. The team is not going to rush back their injury prone back until he is at full strength they have said. The team will start Felix Jones again this week, though he will likely split carries with Lance Dunbar who has surpassed Phillip Tanner on the depth chart. This game could go either way for two Jekyll and Hyde teams, but the edge goes to the Cowboys.
There is also strong amount of intrigue in this game though, as the job security of Jason Garrett has been called into question in midst of the Sean Payton “firing” as it were, by Rodger Goodell. Goodell has done everything he can to overstep his bounds as the NFL commissioner and fuel his perception as a villain. However, this could eventually cause a backlash along from the many questionable incidents mounting under Goodell’s tenure, warranted or not, including the lock out, spy-gate, and bounty-gate to name a few.
This move though, has brought up the question of whether or not Jason Garrett will keep his job as the Cowboy’s head coach next season, as it is no secret that Sean Payton has wanted to be the head coach for the Cowboys. Payton signed an extension last season with the Saints for a reason, so in all likelihood he will return to the Saints after his suspension, but his interest in his former team is worth monitoring.
