So You’re Saying There’s A Chance

According to head coach Rex Ryan and Antonio Cromartie the Jets aren’t out of it yet.  On Thursday the two guaranteed the New York Jets would makes the playoffs after starting 3-5.

If you don’t believe in yourself and your team, why should anyone else?  Ryan is the leader of this squad and this is just another example of him backing his guys and building up their confidence.

Now the next step is to beat the Seattle Seahawks when the Jets travel out to the west coast on Sunday.

The Seahawks, along with the Patriots, are the only teams the Jets face the rest of the way that possess a winning record, so on paper the playoffs aren’t out of the question.

Seattle is always a tough place to play.  The Seahawks are 4-0 at home this season and they hope to continue that streak with help from their rookie quarterback Russell Wilson.  He’s been extremely efficient at CenturyLink Field, a place where he has yet to throw an interception.

The Jets will also have to worry about Beast Mode.  Marshawn Lynch is a force to be reckoned with.  He currently has the second most rushing yards in the league and that does not bode well for a Jets’ defense that has struggled against the run all season.

Sunday will also be the first time Mark Sanchez plays against his former college coach Pete Carroll.  Sanchez needs to be more protective of the ball this week.  He’s been turning it over way too much and if he makes mistakes Seattle’s vicious defense will take full advantage.

New York is coming off a bye and they need a victory.  This is definitely a winnable game, they just have to go out and get it done.  Enough talking.

Final Score: Jets 24  Seahawks 20
