With their 38-0 victory over the Auburn Tigers Saturday, the Georgia Bulldogs waltzed to an SEC East Division Title and a coveted spot in the SEC Championship Game in December.

After Saturday’s blow-out, Bulldog head coach Mark Richt said that he was pleased with a very outstanding performance by everybody- offense, defense and special teams. The Bulldogs definitely played solid on all levels and on both sides of the ball against a sluggish Auburn squad. Simply put, Georgia outplayed Auburn in every second of the game.

Having another near perfect night against the Tigers, quarterback Aaron Murray walked away going 18 of 24 for 208-yards, with three touchdowns. Team “Gurshall” also pounded out another 100-plus yard night, barely being touched by the Tiger defense. Todd Gurley had 116-yards on 11 carries and one touchdown. Keith Marshall went 105-yards on eight carries, earning one touchdown. At the end of the night, Georgia had 497-total yards of offense.

After Saturday’s crushing victory, safety Bacarri Rambo, told Tim Tucker of the Atlanta-Journal Constitution that “we wanted to start fast and finish strong. We just came out here with a mentality to shut them out and get the offense rolling.”

Rambo and the Georgia defense definitely held their end of the bargain, holding Auburn to just 57-yards rushing, 238-yards of total offense and forced two turnovers. Offensively, the Tigers were held to an average of 2.1-yards per rush attempt. Auburn quarterback Jonathan Wallace went 15 of 22 for 181-yards and an interception. The Tigers could not hold the strong pass rush that the Bulldog defense forced.

After the weekend, Georgia finished their SEC season schedule going 7-1, with their only loss coming from a nagging South Carolina. This week, the Bulldogs look to facing Georgia Southern between the hedges on Saturday.
