It was an exciting game for Ravens fans today. Not only did the Ravens prove themselves again, they have kept their number two standing in the AFC for another week. Here’s a quick review of what happened this afternoon!
Final Score: Ravens- 55 Raiders-20
The Raven’s offense accounted for five touchdowns during the game. Flacco threw for 341 yards, completing three passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown. Ray Rice had a meager thirteen rushes for 35 yards and a touchdown. Torrey Smith has proven week in and week out that he is a valuable asset for the Raven’s offense. Smith had two catches for 67 yards, one of which a 47 yard touchdown. He is a great receiver and has a bright career ahead of him. Overall the offense had 419 net yards of offense.
The Raven’s defense had a big game. Paul Kruger had 6 tackles and two sacks, safety Bernard Pollard had eleven tackles and one sack, and Jameel McClain had ten tackles. The Raiders were held to only 73 yards rushing, but gained 368 yards passing.
Sam Koch had arguably his best game of the season. He had four punts for an average of 52.5 yards and scored a touchdown. The Ravens ran a fake field goal in which Koch ran for a seven yard touchdown. Justin Tucker had another perfect day, making both of his field goals and tacking on seven extra points. Jacoby Jones returned a kickoff for 105 yard touchdown. The special teams contributed 20 points for the Ravens, a big confidence booster.
It’ll be back to work this week as the team gets ready to face the Steelers next Sunday for Sunday Night Football. Do you have any guesses as to how the rest of the season will go? Will we keep the streak going for the next seven games?
