Ain’t no lie, the Packers needed the bye, bye, bye

The Green Bay Packers spending the bye week attempting to get healthy, the key word is attempting.
The Packers continued to place starters on the injured reserve over the bye week as they lost linebacker Nick Perry to a wrist injury and offensive lineman Brian Bulaga to a hip injury.
With the loss of Bulaga the Packers are left with two undrafted rookies for their line depth and former first round pick Derrick Sherrod, who is still on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list, but did start practicing Monday.
When the Packers placed Bulaga on the IR they resigned linebacker Vic So’oto, which indicates the likelihood that linebacker Clay Matthews will not be suiting up for the Packers as they face the Detroit Lions.
While there has been plenty of bad news, there is good news as the Packers have had three players returning to practice besides Sherrod. The list includes wide receiver Jordy Nelson, defensive back Sam Shields and defensive lineman Jerel Worthy. All three of the players will be welcomed back to the team with open arms, especially Nelson who has came on strong with the absence of wide receiver Greg Jennings.
So while the Packers have had a bye week, they still have lost a couple of players and Packers fans have to hope the time off has helped the healing process for their whole roster, including players like Matthews, Jennings and defensive back Charles Woodson. Either way the bye helps them shoulder one less week of game play without them. But if there is anyone who will not give up on the Packers when they battle through adversity, it’s gonna be me.
