The Cowboys are in the latter stretch a tough part of their schedule coming off a much needed win over the Eagles. The team’s defense held strong and Tony Romo and the offense played well though they it was no overly dazzling performance.
The was a Felix Jones sighting and the back should flashes of why the team has kept him as their back up. Jones amassed 93 total yards and a touchdown running strong and decisively which is something that we see off and on from him. It is a good sign with conflicting reports that DeMarco Murray may or may no be back for the Cowboys Week 11 game against the Browns. Meaning that Jones looks like he will play well as the lead back in the committee that Dallas is currently running out of the backfield. This is also directly related to the Cowboys offensive line put in another strong day of run blocking.
The Cowboys ran the ball almost evenly with how much they threw the ball leaving Romo to throw a season low 26 times in the game. However, this led to Romo’s second highest completion percentage of the season at 73.1%. The Eagles had to respect a Cowboys run game that was working which let the Cowboys sell the play action and Romo was able to hit his open receivers. Romo was also able to find Dez Bryant for 3 receptions for 87 yards and a 30 yard score, though the catch was a questionable one Dez was able to burn Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie on the play. If Bryant can keep himself involved and focused the Cowboys could make some noise during their upcoming 3 upcoming home games.
The team is sitting at 4-5 and with match ups against the Browns, Redskins, and Eagles, could be in a position to challenge the Giants if they can get on a late season roll.
