New York Knicks vs. Brooklyn Nets: live updates, coverage and reaction

End of OT – Brooklyn 96 New York 89 – The Nets outplay the Knicks and get the win in the first Clash of the Boroughs.

End of regulation – Brooklyn 84 New York 84 – With back to back missed shots from Carmelo Anthony and Deron Williams, we are headed to overtime at the Barclays Center.

4th Quarter – 22.3 seconds: New York 84 Brooklyn 84 – Talk about living up to the hype. These two teams are tied with 22 seconds left. Possession goes to the Knicks.

4th Quarter – 5:50: Brooklyn 76 New York 74 - New York is starting to even things out on the glass, having tallied 13 offensive rebounds and 41 total rebounds, but Brooklyn has a two point edge with under six to go. It’s only November, but this game is intense.

3rd Quarter – 2:44: New York 64 Brooklyn 59 - A big Rasheed Wallace three gives the Knicks a five point lead with just under three to go in the third. Something gives the feel that this one will be going down to the wire.

3rd Quarter – 5:39: New York 57 Brooklyn 53 – This game has quickly reverted back into a low scoring affair, with both teams playing stifling defense. Carmelo, however, has started too really catch some fire. Watch out for him.

Halftime – New York 47 Brooklyn 45 – Great end to the half for New York, bolstered by seven points in the final four minutes from Carmelo Anthony. He leads all scorers with 15 points on 6 of 12 shooting.

2nd Quarter – 2:24: Brooklyn 43 New York 41 – This one has undoubtedly lived up to the hype so far. Brooklyn is dominating on the glass, having already brought down nine offensive boards, and have the slight advantage because of it.

End of 1st Quarter: Brooklyn 26 New York 23 – The flow of this came certainly picked up fast, with both teams scoring at will since the five minute mark. Brooklyn has the lead as we head into the second, led by Gerald Wallace with nine points on three of six shooting and two of four from downtown.

1st Quarter – 5:24 : New York 11  Brooklyn 10 – Points are going to be at a premium in this one as both teams have come out of the gate with high intensity on the defensive end. It might only be the fourth week of the season, but this one has a playoff-like atmosphere.


For a November game, tonight’s meeting between the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets has some meaning to it. It’s the first clash between the two since the Nets move to Brooklyn, and the winner will have the rightful claim to bragging rights and early season supremacy in the Atlantic Division.
